There are a lot of perameters to consider here. Generally speaking modifying an engine should not shorten its life if it is done correctly. Any engine will last to its material build and quality .

- Do you modify any brand engine ?
Yes we will mod any brand engine . We have been professionally modifying engines commercially for 5 years . Brands of engines we have modified are OS , Nova , RB Go , Thunder Tiger , HPI , JP , Rody , Werks, CMB, SH , CEN , Vertex , Axial , Fantom , Dynamyte , Force , LRP , STS, Axe Rossi and Traxxas just to name a few. - How do you modify an engine ?
There are many methods to get an engine to go harder, we have found that changing the way port timings relate to each other is the most reliable way to ensure the engine performs with greater fuel efficientcy without shortening the life of the engine.
We start by mapping the port timings and crank balance into a timing program. This will give us the Exhaust Duration , Transfer and Boost Port durations, Exhaust to Transfer blowdown , Open and Closing induction , Total induction opening, Trapped and Geometric compression ratios . Once we have this information we can then duplicate it into a theoretical line in a virtual environment which we can change and see in real time how the parameters we change effect the rest of the engine. What this means is we can have a blue print of the desired engine timings and then cut the engine to the new timing and balance change. Being able to interpret how one perameter change will effect the other is something only experience can achieve. We had modified over 200 engines successfully before we opened our doors to the public. And I am pleased to say we have modified over 1300 engines since 2003. We also make our fuels by hand with a solid method in place , which is the most accurate way to ensure consistantcy with every batch.

- How long does it take to mod an engine ?
We like to turn over the job within 48 hours of receiving the engine as long as all the parts we need are in stock.

- What is the difference between the stages ?
Simply speaking each stage goes further with the timing and balance changes . EG Stage 5 will go harder than stage 4 because we take the perameters out further.

Absolutely ! Most people report a 15 to 30 % increase depending on the stage.

- Can you modify an old engine ?
We can , as long as its still in good condition. As you can imagine modifying an engine when its on its way out can be a waste. We prefer to mod an engine before it hits the 10 litre mark.
